Job Summary Admin Assistant Job Description 2

To provide administrative support to the team to enable it to function effectively and efficiently.

To provide a high quality, customer focused, administrative support in accordance with the Staff Charter.

CORE WORK AREAS

1.To provide administrative support for the unit.
2.Typing of correspondence as identified by management.
3.To maintain records and update databases accordingly.
4.To maintain statistical records for the department for managerial purposes.
5.To monitor the integrity of information. This includes filing arrangements for paper based records and regular updating of electronic packages.

7.Order and maintain stationery stocks and order occasional equipment.

8.To undertake copying of video and audio media using technical and computer equipment.

9.To maintain manual and computerised systems for work requests and equipment inventory.

OTHER DUTIES:

The post holder will be required to carry out such other duties as may be determined from time to time within the general scope of the post.

Duties and responsibilities outside the general scope of the post will only be required with the further consent of the post holder.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Essential

RSA Level 2 in Word / Text Processing or equivalent or experience in a similar role

Desirable

NVQ Level 2 in Business and Finance or equivalent

Experience

Essential

Demonstrates experience of working within an administrative role, demonstrating a wide range of clerical skills

Demonstrates experience in database entry and retrieval

Skills

Essential

Demonstrates the ability to develop strong working relationships

Communicates effectively and clearly both verbally and in writing avoiding jargon

Demonstrates the ability to collate and analyse information

Knowledge
Essential
Demonstrates knowledge of Microsoft packages: Excel, Word and Outlook and Access

Social Skills
Essential
Self Confident
Demonstrates a flexible / adaptable approach to working practices and working hours.
Demonstrate ability to use own initiative and work unsupervised.
Demonstrates an ability to work under pressure.
