Job Summary-Audience planner job description

1) To provide audience-based thinking and stimulus to help inspire programmes that connect with audiences and satisfy real audience needs.

2) To provide creative facilitation for TV development teams to help them develop ideas that respond to the creative and business needs of the specific genres.

3) To provide support to the Senior Planner in wider strategic projects across commissioning, production and development in TV, Radio & new media.

5. To provide research, project planning, facilitation and budget management support to the Senior Planner on larger strategic and creative projects.

6. To facilitate creative sessions as required outside the development teams, as part of the wider creativity and audiences agenda across the company.

7. To create and build strong relationships within the TV development teams. The building of trust and credibility will be absolutely critical to the success of this role.
 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities-Audience planner job description

1. Significant experience of working in creative/media businesses with hands-on experience in working directly with `content creators`.

2. Ability to confidently plan and run brainstorm sessions and idea generation sessions for the TV development teams.

3. Experience of working on research projects and an understanding of both qualitative and quantitative methodologies.

4. Ability and initiative to dig out audience insights and translate them into relevant stimulus for the creative community

5. The confidence and empathy to work with the creative community to ensure the insights stay embedded in the development process through to its conclusion.

6. Keen interest in broadcast content and the fast-changing broadcasting environment, within the context of social and cultural change.
