To act as support to the Change Manager in being a “gatekeeper” of the global IT environment in order to ensure that there is a balance maintained between the business need for prompt change and the necessity of ensuring that stability of existing systems is not compromised. To run and police standardised methods and procedures for management of IT change.
Involvement in decisions surrounding the implementation of Service Management tools
Ownership of continuous improvement mechanisms for Change & Release Management processes and tools
Change Process Monitoring and auditing of implemented changes to ensure the timely review of the outcome of work is undertaken, captured with accuracy and communicated effectively.
Ensure that change implementers adhere to the Change and Release Management processes.
Carry out audits of proposed or completed Changes to ensure that processes are being followed and that information related to changes is accurate and valid.
Communicated outcomes of change management effectively
Undertake and assist with training of users of Change and Release Management processes and other communications in order to ensure that all stake holders have a clear understanding of the processes and how these relate to their roles.
Provide proactive guidance and support to individuals to help them to navigate Change Management processes efficiently & effectively.
Draft and send out communications to ensure that all relevant parties are aware of, and understand the implications of, updates to processes, etc.
Identify training needs by analysis of common errors.in order to improve general understanding of Change Management processes.
Act as a source of advice and help to other individuals involved in the Change & Release Processes
Production of regular metrics and reports to ensure that there is clear visibility of the state of the Change Management function and of the state and quality of Change implementation.
Preparation & distribution of meeting agenda and minutes to ensure only appropriate items are discussed, and all discussions are accurately documented.
Record meeting discussions, decisions and actions accurately for inclusion in meeting minutes
Stand in for Change Manager as chairman of Change Advisory Board when required
Generally contribute to the successful running of the Change Management function and carry out various Change Management tasks and administration as may be required
Proven experience of working within ITIL compliant change management processes / functions
ITIL foundation certificate
Experienced IT professional with understanding of issues and priorities of other groups / roles within IT
Understanding / awareness of project management
Degree level educated or equivalent
Ability to stand back from a situation and see what’s important
Assertive and persuasive with ability to stand ground where necessary
Fair, understanding and reasonable
Good interpersonal skills and ability to diffuse situations
High level of attention to detail
“Can do” attitude
Good presentation and communication skills (written and verbal)
