To develop a new fundraising strategy to support the new 5 year Strategic Plan that builds on the success of the recently completed appeal, is robust to the impact of the economic recession and maximises unrestricted and restricted income to provide a platform for future growth.
To develop, with a specialist marketing professional, the marketing plan to raise the profile of organisation and all strands of its work, including fundraising.
Director of Fundraising Marketing job description
1. Lead and manage the fundraising and marketing team ensuring that it raises funds in a cost effective manner using all appropriate fundraising tools.
2. Develop a fundraising strategy to support the new 5 year Strategic Plan.
3. Contribute to the development of annual fundraising targets and deliver against these targets.
4. Develop a rigorous marketing approach based on high quality market research, an understanding of fundraising developments across the charity sector and of effective fundraising tools.
5. Maintain excellent professional relationships with key supporters, donors and prospective donors, including high net worth individuals and long term community donors.
6. Work with colleagues to develop new business opportunities and paid for services (e.g. training, consultancy, new education services, etc).
7. Play a full part in the Executive Leadership Team.
Essential Knowledge and Experience Director of Fundraising Marketing job description
Proven track record of major fundraising at a senior level for a significant organisation or project.
Demonstrable experience of developing and delivering successful and innovative fundraising and marketing strategies and business plans.
Experience of developing new income streams in line with an organisation`s overall strategic aims, with significant recent experience of securing unrestricted as well as restricted income streams.
Significant recent experience and proven success in raising income and support from a diverse range of funders, in particular major gift fundraising.
A strong and inspiring leader and people manager, with a record of achievement in leadership including a track record of building and managing high performing teams, and experience of delivering targets through team effort.
Expertise in financial planning and budgetary control.
