Job Summary-Director of ICT job description

To lead and direct the provision and delivery of ICT
services throughout the company; to develop the service
in alignment with local, regional and national
strategies whilst taking into account IT market
developments.

As Head of Profession, contribute to
company strategic decision making, leadership and
management, participate in corporate initiatives, and
represent the company when required.

Main responsibilities- Director of ICT job description

1. Lead a team of IT and communications professionals providing strategic direction, develop and implement the ICT strategy and other policy documents, oversee the ICT business change programme and deliver various business critical and support systems to a range of users across the company on 24 hours, 365 days a year.

2. Oversee the development and delivery of ICT products and services, in accordance with agreed service and performance standards, industry best practice and in alignment with company objectives and regional and national strategic initiatives.

3. Drive the ICT collaborative agenda on behalf of the company, in conjunction with other organisations.

4. Control and manage all revenue and capital expenditure and budgets, ensuring expenditure within the ICT function is appropriately managed, based on lean management principles, quality of service commitment and performance management.

5. Participate in the company strategic development process.

6. Lead on the procurement, supply and negotiation of ICT goods and services for the company in conjunction with legal and procurement professionals, as appropriate.

7. Oversee all people management matters within the function. This includes the development of teams and individuals so as to enhance performance and potential.

8. To manage the relationship with all key stakeholders both internally and externally and maintain appropriate communications forums with them.

9. To ensure that effective ICT provision is in place to support the needs of the company.

10. To maintain an ICT strategy that ensures the company is prepared for changes in the nature of its business, ICT, and the needs of the local community.

11. Perform such other duties as reasonably correspond to the general character of the post and are commensurate with its level of responsibility.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities-Director of ICT job description

Educational Attainment/ Professional Qualifications

To possess a Degree or equivalent

Work Experience

Ideally more than 5 years professional experience in an ICT environment including delivery of major projects

Ideally at least 3 years Senior Management experience

Ideally more than five years experience of managing teams of staff

Skills

Enhanced numerical skills, e.g. performing complex calculations<br>
Advanced literacy skills e.g. composition of original reports, policies at a strategic level

Enhanced keyboard skills, e.g. use of spreadsheets, inputting into database systems, etc. where accuracy is essential but speed is
not a key demand

Disposition

Able to work under pressure to meet specific deadlines
Able to work on own initiative as well as part of a team
