Corporate responsibilities

Contribute fully as a Director to the organisation`s overall strategy and direction, the effective functioning of the Board, the promotion of strong partnerships within and outside the local health community.

Assume joint responsibility, with other directors, for corporate performance and the achievement of the organisation`s strategic objectives.

Actively contribute to the successful team working of the Board and executive team.

Participate with other Directors in the corporate risk management of the organisation, including the relevant areas of the Risk Register and Assurance Framework, and also to ensure the organisation meets its Regulatory responsibilities in a timely manner.

Business Strategy

To lead on strategic and annual service and business planning for the organisation in line with the Strategic Direction.

Responsible for compiling the organisation`s strategic and annual service plans.

Gather strategic business intelligence. Undertake market analysis, regular marketing monitoring, competitor data analysis, demographic and economic profiling to assist and advise the organisation to identify opportunities for development.

Work with all parts of the organisation and stakeholders to develop a costed and achievable annual Service Plan. The plan will have clear objectives, milestones and performance indicators.

Business Development Job description Director of Strategy and Business Development

Develop positive relationships with all key customers, Commissioner and stakeholders.

Seek out opportunities for deriving efficiency gains in service provision by the introduction of `lean` systems and processes and more effective working.

Ensure that all of the organisation`s major business development projects are managed by appropriate project management processes and to required standards in order that they are delivered on time and within agreed budgets and by using cost based models. Ensure value for money in securing additional or external project management skills and resources when required to deliver the projects.

Ensure that all business both new and existing is covered by signed agreements which are current and which cover the cost of the service for the year, the implications of additional activity and the risk and performance requirements of the commissioner and provider.

Working in concert with IM&T leads, the Programme Office and users manage the development of the business requirements for the Corporate Business Intelligence Solution ensuring that the final solution meets the organisation`s needs and fully integrates with all core applications.

Working with the relevant others (eg. Records Manager, and the Head of Knowledge Management), ensure the design, development and deployment of the Corporate Knowledge Management system for the organisation.

Ensure delivery of core system services embedding customer focus, control and best practice all areas of work.

Strategic involvement and expert systems knowledge input into the development of the suite of Corporate Knowledge Management and Business Intelligence Solutions that ensure the accurate initiation, management and successful delivery of the organisation`s programme, comprising up to c1500 live projects at any one time.

Provide expert systems knowledge input into projects relating to design and delivery of process improvements in support of the Corporate Knowledge Management and Business Intelligence solutions.

Work closely with all levels of staff internally within the Agency to identify business requirements needed to design, develop implement and maintain the Corporate Business Intelligence and Knowledge Management solutions for the NWDA.

Ensure the organisation has the best developed “fit for purpose” information systems in place, underpinned by sound information governance arrangements.

Develop and maintain and audit all IT systems across the organisation and ensure that they are fit for purpose.

Report monthly to the Service Delivery Board and the organisation Board on IM&T performance.
