Main responsibilities-Electrical Designer Job Description
Implementing project CAD procedures and guidelines
Providing support to the Electrical/Instrumentation department concerning project procedures, plotting, pen tables, folder structure, electronic transfers, file translations and database functions.
Responsible for electrical CAD drawings, checks and the overall presentation and layout.
Co-ordination of drawing packages for issue and preparing issue folders for electronic files
Monitoring CAD files for compliance with project standards, guidelines, and procedures
Developing and enhancing project CAD systems
Establishing and maintaining the interface with department 3D models and reference 2D backgrounds from model
Working with the Document Control Department to implement and maintain Electronic File Naming Conventions and the overall drawing register.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities-Electrical Designer job description
Degree or Diploma in Drafting or Electrical design
Minimum of 5 years experience in light to heavy industry
Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment
Ability to work in both design office and operating plant environments
Expertise using AutoCAD and working knowledge of 3D design/drafting
AutoLISP and VBA, although not required, will be considered an asset
