The Finance Controls Manager will be primarily responsible for the company control framework and reporting to key stakeholders in the organisation, including the Executive Management Team.
They will lead in enhancing the control framework environment to a best practice level, managing down reputational, security
and data risks that face the company and it outsourcer parties.
Managing and leading the controls discipline across the company
Manage the objective of strengthening and enhancing the control environment for company Finance on behalf of the Group Finance Director and Group Financial Controller, including managing key stakeholder expectations
To manage relationships with company business units and key stakeholders, ensuring that both the Core Finance Controls strategic imperatives and company needs are met and developed
Managing the interface between Finance and Business Assurance, including liaising closely with driving control issues through resolution across the organisation
Managing the interface between Finance Controls and the Exec AC and liaising closely with management on all aspects of the control environment and compliance reporting.
Manage the external representation and communications of the company control environment, policies and practices
Act as a point of liaison for the relationship with the company external auditors (currently KPMG), Outsourcer and independent consultants and lead on all control requirements for the company
Work closely with the Group Finance team, including working closely with the VFM team and divisions on `pipeline` work developed to assess risk and impacts to the business, including quality assurance support
To drive and reinforce early adoption of best practice in all areas of control environment (including outsourcer ) compliance to ensure there is no compromise
Develop policies and initiatives appropriate for the new finance operations, ensuring they are agreed and managed effectively

Experience of operating at senior level, contributing significantly to strategy; preparing and presenting board type papers; experience of presenting technical information to financial and non financial audiences
Experience in a range of sectors and companies through period of organisational change with several years experience and proven understanding of accountancy principles and practices within a corporate finance framework
Detailed understanding of internal controls, fraud and risk management requirements in a complex organisation
Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and persuade through credibility, integrity and professionalism. Able to maintain relationships with a wide range of people across the company and with those external to the company
Excellent foresight for identifying and assessing business, strategic and financial risks affecting the business and the industry in which the company operates
Ability to manage and apply appropriate mitigating techniques to the practical resolution of business issues
Ability to assess process and performance gaps through validating process measures and controls
Enthusiasm, resilience, drive and commitment, with the ability to work effectively in a constantly changing and pressured environment
