Ensuring effective business performance within the Portfolio by leading, on behalf of the Chief Executive, the planning and budgeting processes, helping to ensure that organisation`s overall financial position is in balance and its objectives achieved.

Acting as a focal point and source of expertise in financial analysis within the Portfolio, encouraging and providing constructive challenge to managers to deliver value-for-money and efficiencies both within the Portfolio and across organisation.
Acting as the voice of the CFO within the Portfolio, promoting a culture of financial responsibility and working with the central Finance team to build and develop financial capability across the business.
Working with central Finance to deliver transformational financial thinking, systems and processes that support the Portfolio and organisation`s change agendas.
Providing effective leadership, direction and development to the Portfolio finance team of c.115 people.

The successful candidate will be a CCAB qualified accountant with significant experience of working in a senior financial management role within a complex and highly diverse customer centric environment.
Proven experience of developing and implementing an effective financial control environment within a significantly sized business/organisation.
Strong understanding and experience of risk management, investment appraisal, benefit realisation and how best to deliver value for money.
Ability to contribute as part of the senior management team, through effective business planning, analysis, planning, budget management and performance appraisal.
Demonstrable ability to drive forward efficiency savings across a large organisation, in line with key strategic objectives.
Experience of influencing management at board level as well as key stakeholders within a highly complex and politically sensitive environment.
Experience of leading and developing a geographically dispersed team of highly dedicated and experienced finance professionals.
