Program Management
Ensure operational focus on fuel panel initiatives ensuring key initiatives are kept on track to achieve targeted fuel burn reduction
Assign initiatives to fuel panel Pilots and manage their required office time
Maintain Pilot participation in the fuel panel (ensuring adequate resource provision)
Work productively with other areas of the airline to ensure involvement and change to procedures in order to introduce initiatives
Assign work and perform day to day line management of graduates during their work placement in Operations
Ensure monitoring requirements for the European Emissions Trading Scheme (EUR ETS) are met
Communication Fuel Efficiency Manager job description
Act as focal within company for fuel saving
Deliver communication to increase fuel efficiency awareness across the airline

To maximise efficient use of fuel across the fleet/network, by driving analysis and implementation of fuel conservation and efficiency initiatives to meet budget fuel saving targets.

Respond to queries raised on flight reports/Verbal (I-Fly)
Represent the company & actively participate in industry fuel conservation forums and activities
Publish fuel panel dashboard monthly to operations and engineering senior management teams
Provide fuel panel updates to new Captain`s course/tech refresher courses
Produce fuel focus newsletter and distribute to maximise audience
Provide regular updates to the sustainability group, internal web sites on fuel saving progress against budgeted target [cont right]
Financial Management
Fuel Efficiency Manager job description
Key involvement in setting budget fuel saving target
Drive the delivery of initiatives to achieve the budgeted fuel saving target
Coordinate cost/benefit analysis of fuel efficiency initiatives
Data Management
Perform monthly Aircraft Performance Monitoring and determine appropriate changes to decrement level for recommendation to Fleet Management
Maintain integrity and accuracy of Coremart Fuel Universe, maximising automated data collection
Provide agreed aircraft decrement, statistical taxy and arrival hold data to Flight Planning
Perform fuel burn comparisons to determine reasons for unexpected discrepancies and for ASRs
Monthly analysis of extra fuel uplifted by fleet for Fleet Managers
Maintain fuel panel dashboard with current status of all identified initiatives
Analysis of potential fuel savings for new initiatives, with support of Flight Ops Strategy Analysts
Maintain EUR ETS data and compliance monitoring
Networking and Influencing
Ensure all fuel policy issues are agreed by Fleet Management prior to implementation
Develop strong working relationships with other areas within company at all levels as well as key external stakeholders in order to achieve fuel saving initiatives

REQUIREMENTS
Fuel Efficiency Manager job description
Experience in an operational environment
Sound technical background and/or previous analytical experience
A good understanding of Flight Operations, Engineering and Airports
Experience of working with and influencing senior management up to Director level
Previous management experience highly desirable
Degree level education desirable though not essential
Initiative and drive to achieve results and the ability to work unsupervised
Computing ability to include manufacturers software
