The post holder is to work alongside the Practice team delivering a full range of primary care services which is relevant to the needs of the population and in accordance with local, national and organisational priorities.
The post holder will be involved in development and governance of the service alongside other team members.
Provide personal medical services to registered patients requiring GMS services including but not limited to, general medical services to patients.
To respond to medical problems presented by patients, including history taking, examination, investigation, diagnosis, treatment and referral where appropriate and providing preventative health care and provide advice within the context of primary health care.
To provide additional services, including contraception, minor surgery, maternity services and child surveillance and support specific screening/public health initiatives e.g. flu vaccine, smoking cessation campaigns.

To attend primary health care team meetings and other meetings as may be necessary to support the work of the practice and team.
To contribute to evaluation/audit and clinical standard setting and the establishment of systems to manage common chronic medical conditions e.g. asthma, diabetes, mental health, coronary heart disease.
To undertake clinically related administration and non-clerical duties needed for the delivery of general medical services, including the maintenance of patient records in accordance with best practice on record keeping.
To undertake medicals and reports on patients for employers, insurance companies, etc.
To assist the practice in contributing towards the achievements of the Practice’s objectives.
To promote and adhere to local treatment protocols and a drug formulary, supporting the application of local and national health policy in the achievement of its targets and objectives.
To be responsible for working with colleagues in seeking to improve the quality of services provided to patients and work in accordance with the Primary Care ’s Clinical Government Group.
To develop and agree an up to date Personal Development Plan and maintain an up to date knowledge of general medical services and best practice.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
To promote and observe all the employers and host practices’ policies on health and safety; discrimination; and equal opportunities and to co-operate with any queries arising under those policies.
At all times whilst on duty be accessible by mobile phone or pager.
In exceptional circumstances provide additional services within the post holder’s clinical competence of an emergency nature that would not jeopardise the delivery of general medical services to patients e.g. in the event of a major incident.
To undertake any other duties which are commensurate with the post and within the post-holder’s clinical competence.
To be responsible to your employer and subject to the Practice complaints procedure. Professional disciplinary matters may be referred directly to the GMC.

UK NHS Experience including:

England & Wales GP Registrar Training

Eligible for Obstetrics list
Certificate in Family planning services.
