Job Summary-Head of Infrastructure Job Description

 To be responsible for the development of network Infrastructure services for ICT Services

 To be responsible for network infrastructure policies and procedures and agreed with the Head of ICT

 To provide strategic leadership and operational management for infrastructure services, to ensure that ICT services to its clients, are delivered to agreed standards

 The be accountable for the following services:
o Network strategy, policies and procedures
o Desktop and network services and support
o Service desk
o Voice services and support, and
o Procurement and implementation services and support

 To provide information and advice to the Head of ICT on network infrastructure risks and issues as appropriate

 To lead on disaster recovery and business continuity plans and procedures

 To be a key lead within the ICT on call arrangement

 Any other tasks as defined by the Head of ICT.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities-Head of Infrastructure Job Description

Education & qualifications

 Educated to Degree level or equivalent experience
 Evidence of continuous professional development
 PRINCE2 Practitioner
 MSP practitioner

Experience & Abilities
 Significant experience of service management
 Significant experience of managing an ICT service
 Significant experience of managing a programme of activity, including budgets of over £1m
 Significant experience of staff management
 Experience of developing effective relationships with a range of clients
 Record of achievement in a pressured, change orientated environment
 Experience of developing business cases
 Experience of NHS information security requirements and translating them into local practice

 Patient calm and tactful when dealing with people who are unfamiliar with IT
