The post holder will have responsibility for management of third party suppliers who are responsible for core server platforms.
The overall purpose of this role that the company infrastructure estate is managed effectively, with the key aims of ensuring operational performance, capacity, risk management and implementation of future strategy. The majority of the infrastructure estate is managed by third party providers – therefore a key component of this role is experience in management of large scale ICT infrastructure estate either in a fully outsourced or multiple provider scenario.
Responsibilities include the following:
· Analyse computing requirements and a very strong all round infrastructure understanding.
· Evaluate complex system's production readiness and supportability by identifying and resolving problems, risks, and issues, Coordinate and plan for future requirements.
· Migration of server and storage hardware, applications, and data into or from data centres. Provide Data Centre inventory and asset management.
· Provide input to Business plan to support future computing requirements including Modernisation and/or upgrade of existing data centre facilities;
· Plan and implement the relocation of computing equipment within the data centre. Coordinate power and cooling requirements with Data Centre provider, network connections, project plan and schedule.
· Lead activities to install, configure and maintain multiplatform systems hardware, software and components.
· Delivery systems architecture: Familiarity with server and storage technologies and ability to integrate components into an efficient computing infrastructure.
· System integration and design: Ability to understand application, network and system capabilities and produce infrastructure designs that meet business requirements.
· Systems thinking: Ability to perceive underlying practices that affect computing system performance and identify potential systems improvements.

· Information protection: Familiarity with industry tools and technologies needed to protect company assets and data.
· Project management: Ability to lead project teams to achieve project objectives. Assumes familiarity with project management tools and methodologies.
· System integration and design: Ability to understand application, network and system capabilities and produce infrastructure designs that meet business requirements.
· Systems testing: Ability to define and perform system and network testing to identify issues and problems. Includes production and presentation of test reports.
* Systems thinking: Ability to perceive underlying practices that affect computing system performance and identify potential systems improvements.
* Experience in working large scale outsource providers
* Excellent communication skills
Education/Experience:
· Strong computing server or storage administrator skills required.
· Conversant in Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) processes, procedures, and roles required.
· Strong leadership skills required.
· Data Centre Management leadership role desired.
· Extensive knowledge of computing support roles desired, including security administration, service desk, and application support.
· Qualified to degree level or equivalent is desirable or significant relevant work experience in this field
