Internal Auditor job description

Deliver assignments either individually or as part of a team and following the department`s prescribed methodology.

Aid the development of the control environment and corporate governance by delivering recommendations that are:
-clearly linked to important business goals;
-the product of a thoroughly holistic analysis of processes top-to-bottom and end-to-end;
-truly root causes that get to the crux of problems; and that
-everyone agrees are worth fixing as they bring valuable business benefits to the company

Carry out audits and follow-up visits assigned from the annual Audit Plan, to the required standards and processes.

Where acting as Lead Auditor, co-ordinate activities and quality control the other team members.

Manage the delivery of agreed action plans.

Carry out ad-hoc work as necessary, including fraud investigations and whistle-blowing duties.

On a rotational basis co-ordinate and assess reports of fraud from all business areas.

Identify and highlight processes and controls that warrant auditing
Be proactive in contributing to the continuous professional development of self, Internal Audit and the wider Company.

Manage own time to ensure objectives are achieved and within reasonable timescales without supervision.

Carry out all work to the highest level of professionalism, personal honesty, integrity and diligence.

Requirements

Internal Auditor job description

CIA / IIA / CISA qualified.

Good level of education and intellectual capacity.

Significant experience as an Internal Auditor delivering modern audits. I.e. not only risk-based but holistic, top-down audits assessing business performance, value, operational efficiency and end-to-end process design. Includes some experience in IT auditing.

Training and experience in fraud investigations.
