Job Summary-IT Project Manager [3] job description

To ensure rapid delivery (analysis to deployment) of infrastructure solutions or bespoke / packaged applications according to stated requirements, delivered to agreed budget, quality standards and time, following the company Project Management Framework.

Main responsibilities-IT Project Manager job description

Manage multiple project deliveries of varying dimensions – complexity, technical, geographic, business area and 3rd party partners 
Produce detailed plans for the current phase of the project and high level plans for future stages. Identify key milestones, risks, issues and track against these 
Plan and co-ordinate activities of all IT resources (internal and external) and infrastructure (hardware, licences etc.) necessary for the complete delivery of a technical solution in adherence to IT standards and policies 
Ensure effective management of project dependencies to avoid any adverse impact on the project
 
Maintain a good knowledge of related projects and other initiatives in order to identify potential dependencies, synergies, overlap or duplication and to address these are the earliest opportunity
 
Produce standard project checkpoint / highlight reports for all project stakeholders 
Development of project business case and on-going financial management of the project
 
Ensure all aspects of effective IT project delivery, such as quality standards (e.g. testing approach) are considered and defined at an early stage of the project

Requirements

Significant experience of hands-on project management in infrastructure or software development project delivery is essential
 
Significant experience of management of 3rd party software suppliers, including offshore (i.e. India) resourcing
 
Working knowledge and experience of a structured methodology, e.g. PRINCE2
 
Proven skills in effectively managing project teams and stakeholders
 
Presentation skills and articulate in written and oral communication with the ability to adapt the information and present it in a digestible format dependent upon the audience
 
Self-motivated and ability to work on own initiative with a methodical, meticulous, organised approach to work
 
Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent
 
Takes initiative to ensure technical and management skills / specialisation are kept up to date in line with industry standards
