Job Summary- IT Security Architect job description

The purpose of this role is to contribute to the delivery of both the Policy Plan and the Privacy Framework across the business; ensuring Data Protection and Information Security compliances are met through building effective working relationships with Key departments across the business, and the timely provision of IT Policies and Guidelines which are ‘fit for purpose’.

Main responsibilities- IT Security Architect job description

To deliver new, and amendments to, IT Policies and Guidelines which meet IT, Business, Legal and regulatory requirements in a timely and cost-effective manner, facilitating their approval and subsequent communication across the business.
 
Work with the Senior IT Security and Governance Architect to deliver assigned work plans from the Privacy Framework.
 
Attend Project meetings for IT and Business Projects to provide IT Security and Governance input ensuring effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
 
Monitor changes to legislation and technology to ensure these are captured within the IT Policy set and are communicated out to the relevant areas.

Strong attention to detail;
 
Strong desire to see tasks through to completion.
 
Desirable:
 
Experience of:

  All stages of any Application Development Methodology or lifecycle;
  Any recognised Project Management methodologies.

 Working knowledge and experience of relevant standards, regulations, or legislative instruments – for example:
 

  Data Protection Act (1998)
  Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003;
  ISO 27000 series – specifically ISO 27001 and ISO 27002 standards for Information Security;
  PCI DSS
