To provide an efficient and professional administrative support services within the Domestic Abuse Support Unit. Meeting established deadlines and customer care standards and complying with legislation and Policies, procedures and practices in line with Data Protection.
1. To take responsibility for identifying your own professional and career development needs.
2. To provide the administrative processes within the Public Protection Unit in an accurate and timely manner, in accordance with the policies and procedures, utilising computer based systems and manual systems where appropriate.
3. To provide initial telephone contact with victims, advising, re-assuring and signposting them to other agencies.
5. To provide a first line contact with outside agencies, providing up to date accurate information as per data sharing protocols. To supply information reports for other agencies i.e. Probation and CYPD (Children and Young Persons Department)
6. Collate information held on all IT systems in respect to assessing risk level of Domestic Violence Incidents using skills gained from risk assessment training, identifying and prioritising high-risk victims and highlighting them to the departmental managers.
7 Complete risk assessments (high, medium, standard) using correct Risk Assessment model.
Job Description Clerical Assistant
8. Provide telephone contact with medium risk victims within seven days and complete medium risk interventions with victims using Police and other Agency resources, in order to provide maximum multi-agency support. 9. To be adaptable to change, in relation to both changing working practices and customer needs thereby maximizing customer focus.
10. Identify offenders on the IDAP, (Integrated Domestic Abuse Programme) liaising with probation and providing up to date research and accurate information
11. Provide a verbal briefing to partner agencies regarding information held by Police in respect to MARAC (Multi agency risk assessment conference) case victims and offenders.
12. Must undertake such duties as maybe determined within the general scope of the post as directed by line management. Duties and responsibilities outside the general scope of the post will only be required with the further consent of the post holder.
Competent in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
Experienced in administrative/clerical procedures.
Experience of inputting and extracting data from a database.
Previous experience of handling/making telephone calls concisely and tactfully

Be able to deal efficiently with enquiries and be able to make informed decisions having regard to all information available
Ability to provide a high level of service focusing on the customer. To maintain contact with customers, works out what they need and responds to them.
Ability to suggest ways of changing/improving working practices and be adaptable to changes in working practices and policy
Be able to maintain accurate records and filing systems.
Be able to work effectively as part of a team.
Ability to communicate at all levels internally and externally both verbally and written, i.e. officers, staff, colleagues, partners and members of the public
Be able to use a variety of operational computer systems to record appropriate information accurately to published standards i.e. word processing and email, although a knowledge of the use of spreadsheet and database packages would be an advantage.
Be able to produce relevant statistical information.
Ability to deal appropriately with persons on the telephone who may be distressed
Be able to work on own initiative, prioritise work in order to meet deadlines and be flexible and adaptable to change
Be able to gather information from a range of sources. To analyse information to identify problems and issues and make effective decisions.
EDUCATION/QUALIFICATION
The post holder must be prepared to work towards European Computer Driving License or equivalent qualifications
