To be a team member of the Learning and Development Training Team, delivering a high standard of training and tutorial support at all levels in accordance with the Key Skills Strategy ( supporting literacy, IT and numeracy).
1. Preparation and delivery of high quality scheduled training courses to meet the requirements of the objectives relating to Key Skills Development and to support vocational qualifications as and where appropriate.
2. Preparation of high quality, bespoke and off the shelf training documentation and materials.
3. Supporting key skills delivery including literacy, IT or numeracy using a variety of delivery methods.
4. Demonstrate initiative and enthusiasm for developing training courses and supporting resources.
5. Liaise with end users to ensure that training meets their requirements.
6. Support and assess end users pre and post training.
7. Maintain an up to date awareness of training innovations required to support initiatives.
8. Regularly review course content to maintain relevance and accuracy.
Demonstrate personal and professional competence.
9. Keep abreast of legislation, which affects content and delivery of training course, for example, the Data Protection Act and Copyright Laws.
10. Maintaining accurate record keeping and quality assurance systems which adhere to the requirements of auditing and awarding bodies.
11. Participation in marketing and promotional events.
12. Be prepared to work from various locations and within the local health community.
13. To undertake any other duties at the request of the line manager which are commensurate with the role, including other development programmes, project work, internal job rotation and absence cover
Educated to degree level or 3 years relevant experience.
PTLLS,CTLLS,DTLLS or Cert Ed, PGCE, as the base line
Literacy specialism at Level 4, e.g. 7407 or the equivalent for DTLLS
Experience
At least 2 years experience of delivering key skills / functional training in a large multi application environment.
Experience of using IT to develop information in a variety of formats.
Experience of working collaboratively with other professionals
Experience of allocating work to others.
Knowledge and Skills
Highly developed oral and written communication skills.
Excellent organisational skills including methodical and logical approach to planning and scheduling training events.
Knowledge of Key Skills agenda both nationally and locally.
