Resolve queries arising from budget holders’ review of monthly accounts.
Manage the balance sheet, ensuring all balances are supported and are reconciled on a regular basis and that old items are cleared on a timely basis.
Assist in the preparation of capital investment cases for Investment and Business Development Committee.
When other duties allow, to provide dedicated financial support to high value/high risk capital projects.
Maintain full and effective communications with other members of the Finance and Business Centre, budget holders and administrative staff in the Business Unit to ensure smooth and efficient flows of communication.
Working with the other members of the Finance and Business Centre, continuously assess the service being provided to Business Unit customers and explore ways of improving it and ensure that core finance processes are being undertaken as efficiently as possible.
Manage the work of the Assistant Management Accountant and ensure that they work to the highest professional standards.

Monitor performance against set objectives.
Provide professional advice and guidance where necessary.
Assist in maintaining financial controls in overseas offices, to include audit visits.
Monitor various areas of spend to detect exceptions and notify these exceptions to the appropriate manager.
Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA)
Previous management accounting experience
Pro-activeness in seeking continual improvement.
Computer Skills
Has highly developed IT skills (MS office) and an understanding of, and an ability to operate SAP and other computer
based financial management systems, and to assist others with their operation.
