To head a GP Commissioning Consortium of 12 member practices covering 68,000 patients. The consortium is supported by a management team who are a mix of clinical and non-clinical staff .This post has a dual role – as a clinical commissioner within the NCG support structure supporting the Executive Committee and its Clinical Directors as well as undertaking operational clinical sessions within the constituent practices that agree. The Medical Director is a non-voting member of the Executive Committee. The successful candidate will be a well-qualified GP with key clinical skills as well as the capacity to provide support to the commissioning process.
Key Responsibilities:
Corporate
1. Support the Executive Committee and Council in its decision-making regarding strategic and operational matters including the QIPP challenge and future direction, in conjunction with the management team.
2. Be responsible for implementing NCG clinical governance policy, reporting risks and issues to the Director of Operations and Executive Board as appropriate.
3. Provide mentoring and support to other clinicians as appropriate.
4. Develop education and training programmes for constituent practices, in conjunction with the QIPP unit.
Operational
5. Assist the constituent practices with the implementation of the redesigned pathways and their bespoke QIPP plan, in conjunction with the QIPP unit.
6. Assist practices with case management, using IT solutions as appropriate including EMIS, Corporate Radar and ePACT.
7. Undertake GP clinical sessions within the constituent practices.

The successful candidate will be a well-qualified GP with key clinical skills as well as the capacity to provide support to the commissioning process.
Knowledge and Experience
UK NHS Experience including:
• Health promotion and its implications
• Chronic disease management
Understanding of Clinical Governance and quality issues
Understanding of the role of teamwork in providing quality services
Experience in maintaining patients records at an acceptable standard for audit purposes
Skills and Abilities
Ability to use practice computer systems to record all clinical data
The ability to develop close working partnerships between individuals, teams and organisations
Full UK driving licence
Full UK work permit
Training and Education
Effective team worker
Fully registered with the GMC
UK based VTS training or eligible work immediately as a GP in the UK
England & Wales GP Registrar Training
Eligible for child health surveillance List
Eligible for Obstetrics list
Certificate in Family planning services.
