• To manager the recruitment service for medical staff both permanent and locum staff.
• To manage day to day medical staffing issues in relation to employment conditions of service for consultant psychiatrists, staff grade, specialty, doctors in training and associate specialist doctors.
• To support the Medical Staffing Manager.
• To liaise with medical education over doctors in training.
1. Manage the day to day supervision of the medical staffing assistants and feed through development issues to the Medical Staffing Manager in preparation for appraisal and performance management.
2. Provide coaching, expertise and support to the Medical Staffing Assistants to ensure standards are maintained and continually improved.
3. Ensure the service provides an effective operational management of the recruitment processes, ensuring good quality control on deadlines and candidate relationship management.
4. Ensure professional registration is up to date
5. Ensure all matters in relation to the Speciality Registrar rotational changes are efficiently carried out by the medical staffing team.
6. Support the Medical Staffing Manager in developing medical staffing practices.
7. Support the Medical Staffing Manager in the administration of the Awards Panel meetings.
8. Ensure the correct advice on the range of immigration issues
9. Provide support in relation to rota/staffing patterns to ensure effective staffing levels and ensure staff have knowledge of rotas and the European WTD.
10. Support the Medical Staffing Manager with the monitoring returns ensuring information is presented in required format and within specified timescales e.g. New Deal, EWTD, Ministerial Returns, Medical and Dental Census.
11. Provide advice and support to medical staff on contractual, work permit, policy, procedure, legislative and all aspects of their employment contract with support from the Medical Staffing Officer.
12. To engage with key personnel and build strong working relationships through attendance at meetings such as Trainee’s forums, NAMPS and Inductions etc.
13. Provide support in implementing medical staffing initiatives such as inductions and new medical contracts.

• Generalist HR experience working within a complex organisation with exposure to a medical staffing HR issues
• Experience of interpreting and advising on complex terms and conditions, policies and procedures
• Experience of administering recruitment and selection procedures.
• Experience of using and extracting information from HR/Payroll Database
• Experience of working cooperatively with trade unions
• Experienced and understanding of the scope and practical application of current and impending employment legislation
• Experience of introducing changes to working practices, policies and systems and sustaining improvements.
• Knowledge and understanding of key issues within the ORGANISATION and/or other public sector organisations.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
• Effective verbal and written communication and influencing skills
• Effective organisational skills
• Able to communicate information to staff at all levels of the organisation and outside agencies (e.g. educational requirements)
