Metadata is important asset that needs creating and storing, indexing for future use across all divisions.

 The starting point for the metadata should be the product catalogue, for TV and VOD this would be OracTV. For DTO, this will be OracVideo.

We are seeking to establish a standard metadata template for our products. This post will be responsible for pulling together all ORGANISATION business requirements in relation to Metadata to service their deals. Will pull together existing requests from I-Tunes, Azureus, ORGANISATION Shop, Nokia and create one or more standard metadata templates to service deals going forward.
• Rapidly implement any necessary system changes in order to capture and maintain information not currently available in the appropriate format

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• To identify and populate metadata to support delivery to ORGANISATION direct-to-consumer digital product systems including 3rd parties, VOD, DTO sales and any current and future ORGANISATIONW requirements relating to Digital media.

• To liaise with third party Metadata delivery service providers, for example Red Bee, to facilitate delivery of pre-formatted metadata to add value to Global TV Sales content licensing deals with global satellite and cable broadcast networks.

• This role will ideally be a combination of skills including proofreading and Quality Assurance, combined with a familiarity and competence in data entry, database driven publishing systems, and familiarity with ORGANISATION product catalogue and industry-accepted genre/categorization.

• To work with all Business areas within ORGANISATION on their current and future requirements – prioritising according to urgent business need (to include longer term metadata requirements for Audio and Magazines)
• To maintain standard metadata templates for all WW direct-to-consumer digital product systems and to support 3rd party distribution deal-making.

• To centralise and collate existing legacy metadata sources (Orac, etc.) to ensure there is no duplication across businesses – look at opportunities to share and gather Metadata across Regions e.g. FTP site with US.
 

• Extensive knowledge of ORGANISATION catalogue
• Accuracy and attention to detail vital
• Experience of database creation or management and advanced user on Excel
• Background in a rights role would be useful
• Some editorial experience in content creation.
