Job Summary-Press Officer job description

To provide strategic and tactical advice and guidance to company personnel. Utilise all forms of media to assist the company in meeting its duties and commitments and to help preserve the organisations integrity and reputation. To help develop and deliver the company external and internal communications strategies.

Main responsibilities-Press Officer job description

Respond to operational incidents, either on duty or when on-call, advise on the appropriate use of the media, manage the media interest in these incidents, and prepare detailed media strategies. In doing so take into account deadlines and operational and political sensitivities.

Organise and conduct news conferences where appropriate.

Act as a company spokesperson for print and broadcast media as required.

Provide media training to staff where appropriate. Raise awareness of media issues to all personnel. Prepare and deliver presentations to both internal and external audiences.

Work with Marketing and Communications on proactive campaigns and initiatives and contribute to publications.

Essential-CIPD Qualified (preferably MCIPD or FCIPD).

Proven experience working as an HR Advisor / Manager level or equivalent ideally from a related industry sector environment

Desirable-Degree, experience in working in medium sized, multi-site, engineering / manufacturing organisation.
