RESPONSIBILITIES

* - Build and promote an open, collaborative and creative culture which encourages and inspires innovative and distinctive output.
* - Drive the development process, understanding channel strategies and audiences, and through first class forward planning.
* - In collaboration with appropriate colleagues, set clear and achievable objectives and provide constructive feedback. Appraise performance at appropriate levels and deal effectively with poor performance.

Knowledge
- Understanding of editorial guidelines, target audience, programme, department and Broadcast objectives.
Experience
* - Excellent track record as a programme maker displaying strong journalistic and creative film-making skills. Experience of prime time popular magazine formats desirable.
* - Demonstrable leadership qualities at a senior level, preferably at Executive producer or Editor level, including good interpersonal and team building skills; demonstrable successful in managing multiple production teams; awareness of employment practices including appraisal, and conditions of service
* - Collaborative approach to management, demonstrating a flexible approach to problem solving
* - A demonstrably strong ability in writing scripts and in managing a cutting-room.
* -Sound editorial judgment and a thorough knowledge of legal and editorial guidelines. Extensive experience of making judgements on matters of editorial sensitivity.
* - Sound knowledge or ability to acquire it, of publicity, editorial and commissioning processes.
* - Awareness of the programme budgeting, costing and forecasting procedures, or ability to quickly acquire this knowledge, as well as knowledge of current market costs of internal and external resources. Experience of managing large and complex budgets.
* - Sound understanding of the broadcasting industry.
* - Awareness of audience research, topical issues and gaps within current TV output.
