Job Summary-Job description Promotion and Events

This radio station covers a fast moving patch and produces engaging radio and web content for its growing audience.

You will be responsible for developing and implementing creative promotions initiatives for both our radio and online services to ensure maximum publicity.

This will include event branding, merchandising, major outside broadcasts and forging links with diverse communities across the county. You will also work on other areas of the output as required.

You will have previous promotional experience as well as bags of creative ideas and treatments to ensure maximum publicity across our output. You must have proven organisational skills and the ability to work within a team as well as on your own initiative. You will need strong written and verbal communications skills; a good knowledge of Microsoft office and, because the role involves occasional week-end and evening working you will also need to be flexible with your work patterns. Knowledge of our audience and one other community is essential.

JOB ROLE

To develop Promotions and Outreach initiatives for the radio station through a thorough understanding of the marketplace, targeting partners and forging links with the local community. To implement a range of marketing and outreach initiatives within set budget limits.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  * 1. Provide the Editor with weekly report of all promotional and outreach activities.
  * 2. Implement a range of promotional campaigns, with the performance measured against objectives agreed in consultation with the Editor.
  * 3. Ensure all promotion and outreach projects undertaken are economically and effectively costed and do not exceed their budget.

  * 4. Work with the Editor on the planning and implementation of additional projects promoting the station.
  * 5. Organise all branding and merchandising and liase with programme colleagues for all major events.
  * 6. Establish links within the company to utilise existing resources.
  * 7. Establish links with local community to identify events in which the company should be involved locally.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities-Job description Promotion and Events

SKILLS KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

  * 1. Previous promotional experience preferably working in partnership with other organisations.
  * 2. An understanding of the Local Radio Environment or evidence of the ability to acquire this quickly.
  * 3. Good written and verbal communication skills.
  * 4. Good creative and research skills.
  * 5. Ability to schedule and manage time effectively across a number of projects, to prioritise work and meet tight deadlines working under pressure.
  * 6. A sound appreciation of the structure, objectives and activities of the company Radio and Online, or evidence of the ability to acquire this quickly.
  * 7. Experience of analysing and presenting data. Knowledge of the following computer packages -Microsoft PowerPoint, Email and Word.
  * 8. Good interpersonal skills, particularly the ability to work as part of a team, and to motivate others, and the ability to get on with a wide range of people in the local community.
  * 9. Experience of working to and managing agreed budgets.
