To lead The company Cargo’s quality assurance activity. By embracing cargo relevant quality management disciplines the role holder will be instrumental in designing and defining our approach to applying a ‘continuous improvement’ mentality and be responsible for executing that approach, ensuring we extract maximum value.
Improving data integrity will be a central feature of the this role, liaising with various entities and components of the end to end supply chain and internal functions to improve the flow and quality of data. The role holder will be the owner of our E-Freight programme and will seek further opportunities to drive efficiency through the improved flow and integrity of data.

Quality asurance design and execution

Undertake a gap analysis between existing performance metrics and methodologies and other relevant measures
 
Propose recommendations for adapting processes to incorporate the ‘to be’ vision, ensuring our service proposition and values are protected
 
Procure and implement the tools necessary to enable the availability network wide performance based data
 
Put in place in the processes necessary to understand customer and supplier data quality and enable mechanisms for improving their data quality
 
Execute the distribution and effective use of performance improvement tools and reports, catering to global, regional and local levels and variations
 
Champion the value of quality management and continuous improvement across the business
 
Lead the implementation of new initiative, following the established plan and meeting its objectives.

Data Integrity

Understand all existing and ‘to be’ data sources, identifying their individual flaws and nuances.
 
Take a consultative approach to proposing methods for improving source consistency and accuracy.
 
Liaise with the various stakeholders (both internal and external) to reduce ‘noise’ and improve consistency across data sets.
 
Ensure data structures and formats are compliant with broader THE COMPANY and data strategy and policy.
 
In conjunction with THE COMPANY IT, ensure maximum value and service is leveraged from IT vendors.
 
Relationship management and communication
Effectively communicate quality assurance vision to key stakeholders and the wider business.
 
Develop a consultative approach to establishing forums and methods for infusing quality based performance improvement into the relevant business areas.
 
Build professional and solid relationships with quality counterparts within customers and handling suppliers, protecting brand values and commercial goals.
Be the voice of at relevant industry forums and bodies, ensuring interests are heard and protected.
 
Ongoing development
Develop new initiatives for adding value through new and streamlined data acquisition and performance measuring standards.
 
Lead the analysis into cost versus risk versus benefit of those initiatives.
 
Gain senior management buy in for any new investment through robust business case composition.
 
Own and deliver the benefits derived from any business case.
 
Team Leadership
Lead the off-shored quality assurance team, putting in place the necessary processes and measures to ensure that the evolving business needs are met.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities-Quality Assurance Manager Cargo job description

Excellent communication skills, able to influence and develop commercial relationships at all levels
 
Adapt at forming strong internal relationships and overcoming resistance
 
Must be highly numerate and posses sound analytical skills
 
Strong IT skills, particularly in excel, word, business objects, TM1, powerpoint, visio and project.
 
Accomplished people management skills
 
Strong planning and project management experience
 
Degree educated or equiavelent
 
Proven experience of change management
 
Management level experience of quality assurance and continuous improvement disciplines
 
Operational Research experience preferable
 
Experience and knowledge of cargo methodologies
 
Proven air cargo experience, preferably in operational/ground handling areas
 
Experience of commercial analysis.
 
Experience of managing data structures
 
Considerable business analysis experience
