Recruiting Assistant Job Description
Administration
To provide a range of administrative and clerical services including the following:
To oversee the preparation of application packs and responses to requests for information from candidates, ensuring that sufficient, accurate and timely information is distributed. This will involve the collation and distribution of application packs.
To collate data relating to the number of applications sent, received and processed through to selection.
To prepare material for short listing and interviews ensuring that managers receive accurate and timely information.
To notify candidates of interview appointments and results, and to request employer references ensuring a timely response.
To respond to general face-to-face, telephone or e-mail enquiries relating to recruitment issues and to ensure levels of service are maintained in the absence of the Recruitment Officer.
To compile interview files, paperwork and schedules for assessment centres.
To prepare employment contracts for newly recruited staff and to process any subsequent amendments in an accurate, efficient and timely manner. To notify the payroll section of new employees and transfers.
Management Information Systems
To use and maintain a variety of manual and computerised record keeping systems always ensuring the accuracy and relevance of the data stored, in order to provide efficient, accurate and timely reports on request.
To co-ordinate and oversee pre-employment checks undertaken on applicants in order to obtain relevant information to determine suitability for appointment.

To participate in external events to promote the company with a view to attracting candidates to apply for posts.
General
To be aware of policy on Equal Opportunities, Health and Safety and Data Protection and comply with legislation and the standards of good practice. To give regular and effective service.
Recruiting Assistant Job Description
Essential
Educated to GCSE level including Maths and English, NVQ level II, or work experience that may be deemed to have brought the postholder up to a comparable level
Desirable:
Certificate of Personnel Practice or willingness to obtain.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Essential: At least two years experience working in a busy office environment. Computer literate and experience of using computerised systems. Experience of customer orientated, service delivery environment. Desirable: Two years experience in a personnel environment. Knowledge of recruitment and selection processes Experience of a range of interviewing techniques and assessment centres. Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
