The Sales & Licensing Manager is responsible for all sales and licensing activities of the company. The Sales & Licensing Manager develops and implements the company’s sales plan for licensing of the technology to original equipment manufacturers, for follow on consulting services, and provides leadership for the development of strategic partnerships with utility companies, industry end users, and engineering consulting firms.
• Develops, implements and evaluates agreed upon sales and licensing plans.
• Must be able to identify business opportunities and qualify accounts. Develops a database of qualified leads through referrals, telephone contacts, face to face cold calling, email, and networking.
• Travels throughout the United States and Europe to meet with potential licensees and strategic partners.
• Demonstrates the ability to communicate with business individuals at all levels of an organization. Conducts winning presentations in front of a variety of audiences who vary in technical understanding.
• Demonstrates the ability to obtain customer commitment after sales calls, and the ability to close a sale and form win/win relationships.
• Maintains accurate records of all sales and prospecting activities.
Required Experience and Abilities:
• Solid communication skills and understanding of the sales process. Ability to communicate the business value of the technology to a variety of audiences who vary in technical understanding.
• Minimum of three to five years relevant sales experience.
• Ability to work with a team and individually.
Helpful:
• Knowledge of, experience in, or contacts within the industrial equipment community or in the industries.
• Prior high level sales/marketing position experience. Demonstrated ability to formulate and execute appropriate sales strategy.
• Engineering background; technical sales or heavy industrial equipment sales background; engineering consulting services sales background.
• Successful experience with licensing of technology.
Education: Bachelor’s degree required.
