This job description establishes and describes the duties, authority, responsibilities and measurements of performance of the Services Sales Consultant position. The function of the Services Sales Consultant is to prospect for and develop project and service opportunities with new and existing clients that will achieve the established business, revenue, and growth goals and objectives of the company. Additionally the Services Sales Consultant is responsible for promoting and marketing the company image in the industry, in addition to the planning and execution of the necessary sales activities to support this effort.

Main responsibilities-Services Sales Consultant job description

Project sponsorship for specific activities inclusive of any coordination efforts with the opportunity

Forecast reporting of all leads, projects, and client developments.

Industry awareness of trends and regulatory impacts to our business.
Trade show and industry show participation and support

Project opportunities are sponsored appropriately, estimates are developed accurately, and proposals are generated.

Client relationships are managed appropriately.

Coordinate account activities with Account Management teams

Prospecting and lead generation for assigned territory and industry.

Weekly activities are maintained in database, including but not limited to meetings, client calls, opportunities/status, and client information.

All sales calls and leads are properly acted upon, or followed up on.

Demonstrates good judgment in suitably reporting major matters of problems to the Director of Service Sales.

Other Duties - Perform all other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities-Services Sales Consultant job description

1. Education:

Preferred: Bachelor Degree (or Ten years experience)

2. Experience:
A minimum of two years experience in Business Development, Sales/Marketing, Project Management or Engineering in the industrial/commercial environment, preferable in Controls related industries. A proven track record in solution selling is a must. Strong understanding of engineering and construction services as well as the contracting environment is essential.

3. Language Skills:
Language ability includes reading, writing, spelling, and the ability to communicate clearly on technical and business topics in English. This includes the capability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. As well as the expertise to review detailed bid documents, proficient in writing routine reports & correspondence, and competent at speaking effectively before groups of customers or employees.

4. Mathematical Skills:
Requires analytical and statistical knowledge using general business mathematical skills.

5. Reasoning Ability:
Position requires the use of analytical and observational skills, which demonstrate an ability to organize, budget, forecast and control the sponsorship of project opportunities.

Interpersonal relationships are essential to effective performance of this job and a requirement for this position.

6. Physical:
Body Positions: Standing, sitting, and walking
Body Movements: Carrying items, use of hands, eyes, arms and voice.
