This position is responsible for a) preparation of the U.S. and various international annual and quarterly tax provisions; b) reviewing the consolidated annual and quarterly global tax provision, including recording, categorizing and monitoring global FIN48 positions; c) managing all external audits; d) assisting in the monitoring and training of worldwide tax provision staff; e) drafting the required disclosures for SEC Forms 10Q and 10K, internal reports and related press releases; f) calculating the effective tax rate used externally by financial analysts and internally by management; g) reviewing U.S. tax compliance for federal, state and local tax returns; and g) managing and directing the team of tax reporting and compliance professionals.
Review and prepare FAS 109 calculations and FIN 48 positions for consolidated financial reporting. Review local statutory books and related tax adjustments. Oversee accurate and timely filing of local income tax returns and remittance of estimated tax payments..
Compliance management
Prepare and review all US federal, state and local income tax returns and remittance of estimated tax payments, and ensure compliance with US transfer pricing regulations.
People development
Oversee the development of subordinates through delegation of responsibility, preparation of individual development plans, and provision of regular feedback both informally and via formal evaluation process.
Tax controversies management
Aid various tax groups to manage tax audits, supply information and support the company's FIN48 positions.
Tax planning and management of operating structures. Aid in tax accounting treatment of operating structures for new operations and existing operating structures
EDUCATION
MINIMUM REQUIRED BA, CPA or JD PREFERRED BA/MST/JD
EXPERIENCE
MINIMUM REQUIRED 8 YEARS PREFERRED 12 YEARS

Extensive experience with international tax accounting and complicated international tax provisions is a plus. This position will need experience in drafting SOX controls, working with various types of financial software, and ensuring those programs work properly.
The position requires an ability to analyze business information and developments and their resulting impact on the U.S. and worldwide tax provisions, and extensive experience in preparing high quality and fully documented tax provision calculations for use in internal reports.
This position reports to the Tax Director – Compliance and Reporting, with extensive visibility to VP- Tax and significant exposure to the CFO and VP- Controller plus significant interaction with Ernst & Young auditors. This position also assists the Tax Planning group and the Tax Operations groups with the tax accounting treatment of transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, rig movements, and restructuring plans.
The candidate must be certified as a C.P.A., C.A., and/or J.D. (or equivalent) in order to demonstrate professional proficiency, adherence to professional responsibilities (code of conduct and code of ethics) as well as requirements to obtain continuing professional education.
