As a Designer you will produce innovative designs initially for interactive TV projects, as well as the opportunity
for mobile and web projects in the future.
Working in collaboration with stakeholders you will propose solutions that balance user need with business goals and
technological capabilities. You will also seek to exploit the opportunities for innovative visual design offered by
new and emerging technology platform
Main responsibilities- User Experience Designer Job Description
To work on design projects either independently or within a team according to an agreed design brief as allocated by the line manager. Working directly with producers, technical teams and information architects to create new and revise existing products.
To participate in defining the design brief or setting up the design concept to answer the brief for new multi-platform projects.
To develop design ideas and basic concepts into fully worked out design solutions for new projects.
To liaise with the senior designer and editorial lead throughout the project phase to ensure that design work consistently answers the brief in terms of the look, feel and functionality of the presentation layer and that designs communicate the intended message and brand identity.
To maintain regular contact with other design counterparts in own and other divisions to ensure a consistent approach to the design style and branding of the interactive output.
To research and prepare material in support of new design concepts and create working drawings, storyboards and layouts to evaluate and present these.

To keep abreast of industry developments in new platforms and technology and be able to interpret how these would impact company services from a design perspective.
To write up initial design briefs with the editorial and technical leads to determine the style, look, feel and functionality for new multi-platform projects.
To keep up to date with the company internal editorial and design standards and guidelines and work within these with a high degree of independence.
To be aware of personal financial authority limits and to ensure that this authority is exercised in accordance with company financial arrangements.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities-User Experience Designer Job Description
Bachelor`s degree in design or related field or equivalent experience
Substantial demonstrable experience in interaction design, complemented by knowledge of visual design, usability, accessibility, and information architecture
A portfolio of successfully delivered projects that demonstrate design expertise
A high level of proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. An understanding of Adobe After Effects, Flash, Premiere and Final Cut Pro is also an advantage
Experience in working with multi-disciplinary teams of designers, producers, and software developers
Excellent organisational skills, with particular emphasis on assessing priorities when dealing with heavy workloads and tight deadlines
An in-depth understanding of the design process and how new media can deliver audience needs and contribute to the company audience`s aims and aspirations.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present information concisely; and to influence others, and to negotiate, persuade and sell ideas whilst maintaining trust and confidence.
