Job Summary-Vehicle technician job description
Undertake the service, maintenance and repair of all vehicle types and equipment that the company operates and/or seeks to service maintained repair on behalf of others.
Carry out safety inspections and pre MOT checks of vehicles including road test of vehicles, diagnostic test of faults and identification of defects.
Prepare, equip, fit and commission all vehicles-both new and used - and strip out the same prior to disposal.
Complete documentation on work carried out including job sheets, service sheets, MOT inspection sheets, productivity/daily time sheets, stores requistitions, etc.
Carry out the repair and service of ancillary equipment as fitted and/or used by the company.

Undertake warranty repairs, saving displaced materials for possible return.
Ensure care and safe custody of all tools, equipment and materials used and to report all defects found.

Ensure all work is carried out in a professional manner and to a high standard according to current Health & Safety.
Carry out all duties with regard to general cleanliness and tidiness and assist in the weekly clean-up of the workshop.
Observe and be familiar with the company Health and Safety Policy and COSHH Regulations.
Attend both on site and off site training courses as required, with overnight stays when required.

Be able to work from any workshop when required.
Ensure safe & appropriate use of company tools.

Essential
Hold full clean driving licence
Time served apprentice trained Mechanical Technician
Proven knowledge of MOT requirements / legislation
Ability to use electronic diagnostic equipment to enable the identification of faults.
Up to date knowledge of vehicle maintenance techniques.
To be familiar with current Health & Safety Policy and Procedures in a workshop environment.
Desirable:
Qualified / Master Technician
